Shen was originally a royal guard for the emperor of Genesis, a country with complete control over the neighboring villages. However, Shen was stripped of his rank as an imperial guard and sentenced for death because he was framed for an attempt to kidnap the Princess of Genesis escorting the Imperial Seal back to the capital.
He pleaded to talk with the princess to acknowledge his innocence as he struggled from two guards in front of the King of Genesis. Even the king was skeptical of his most loyal guard, Shen, betraying him. Unfortunately for Shen, the princess pleaded and cried to her father to behead him, saying that Shen attempted to rape her. In front of the King's eyes laid his crying daughter, this lead to his final decision as he held his daughter in his arms, looking away at the screaming guard.
Shen became enraged at the King's stupidity in front of the scribes and advisers lined along the Royal Court and lashed out at the two guards. Moments later the two guards holding Shen were knocked unconscious with a single strike to the back of the neck. The king, the princess, the guards, the advisers, and the scribes, were shocked at the speed Shen traveled towards the princess. Two guards then stood in Shen's path before they too were knocked unconscious by a strike to the neck and another to the sternum. As he reached the throne the King stood in front of Shen as the princess cowered in fear at Shen's malevolence as he killed her father before her.
Anger rushed over Shen as he grabbed the now shrieking princess, ready to deal the final blow if another guard didn't spear him in the back. His grip loosened from the shock of the pain, allowing the princess to run behind several Imperial guards, however, his vengeance was incomplete without the life of the princess. Removing the spear from his back in front of the cautious guards, Shen used the guard's very own spear for a thrust to his neck, which resulted in a kill hit. Noticing his odds of leaving alive were slim if he continued to fight, Shen ran and escaped the Imperial Guards into the lower city. But as he made it to the city gates, the entire Imperial Army began their hunt for the single warrior.
Shen was able to escape from the help of a hooded figure, but he soon found himself with a headache near a lake as well as the ability to control polarity of metals (magnetism). Before long Shen wandered far enough into this village.
